Does anyone have any recommendations on a strategic roguelike game that’s not about endlessly wandering dungeons and more about a directly linear path to the boss? With all this in mind, I have already completed everything in this game and looking to scratch this type of gaming itch again. I have also enjoyed Slay the Spire and Hades (and almost every roguelike game on Xbox Game Pass), but I find the intense strategy combined with a simple linear structure the best with Monster Train. I like the linearity of it all, how it’s turn based, and easy to understand difficult to master. It’s a bit more straightforward and easier for just a quick gaming sesh than most rogue-likes where more time is spent wandering around endless dungeons. I love the idea of a specific amount of increasingly difficult levels where you can make a limited amount of upgrades after each battle until you reach the end. It just hits all the boxes that I wish for in a game. Hi y’all! So Monster Train is probably my all time favorite game.
